Abstract

In a stand of Pinus patula Schl et Cham., located in the region of Chignahuapan-Zacatlan, Puebla, México, total accumulation, distribution and increment of aboveground biomass were estimated by allometric equations of the form ln Y = a+b lnX. Total aboveground biomass was 165.9 Mg ha-1, of which there was 72 % in stem wood, 16 % in stem bark, 9 % in branches and 3 % in foliage. Estimated mean annual biomass increment was 6.9 Mg ha-1.
