ESTERASE POLYMORPHIC ACTIVITY ESTABLISHES PHYLOGENETIC RELATIONSHIPS AMONG POTATO CULTIVARS
Keywords:
Solanum tuberosum L., electrophoresis, isozymes, genetic markersAbstract
Esterase (est) electrophoretic profiles were studied in 25 potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) cultivars derived through micropropagation, under a discontinuous buffer system in 10 % polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Eleven sites with est activity were identified. Twenty two out of the 25 genotypes could be distinguished on the basis of presence/ absence of specific bands, and 24 were assigned to five phylogenetic groups.Downloads
