Abstract

In the Cultural and Recreative Park Desierto de los Leones, Distrito Federal, México, the area covered by the Abies religiosa (H.B.K.) Schl. et Cham. forest has been reduced. In the area there are strong problems of air pollution, whose direct effects have been considered as the primary cause of the decline. It is known that pollutant deposits on soil can cause nutrient disorders. For this reason, the nutrient status of a forest plantation in this area was studied using the DRIS. The results indicate that the most deficient nutrients were K and Mn, while S and Ca were the least deficient.
